MB trac 900 & 1000 cab tilt hinge
#1

Hi!

We have two MB tracs one 900 turbo -90 and one 1000 -85. I want some pictures of the hinges for tilting/tipping the cab. Our MB 1000 has some hinges, but it doesn't look quite right. Used them two times but feels like it isn't correct. The distans between cab and the platform is greater on the 1000 model. Is it the same type of hinges on both tractors only longer on the 1000?

I tried to find pictures of this, but haven't found any. And I don't speak German so that makes it even harder to find information about this.

Greetings

Hi Johannes,

I have no experience in your model, but I can give you some links:

1) here you can see an report from "kabine kippen" and there is the information, that the model 700-1100 has the same hinge. (in german Smile )

https://www.trac-technik.de/Forum/showth...p?tid=1249

2) here you can see a picture of the hinge from german dealer Ament. There is also the information, that 700-1100 (new model = Seitenschalter) has the same. Only the older MB-Tracs ( Mittelschalter) has another hinge.

Perhaps you can give us pictures of your existing hinges and some experts here in the forum can command.

Thanks for the links! Especially the link to a dealer.

But still, I don't think that the same hinges would work on both tractors, see images below:

Thanks. Images on imgur, couldn't upload high resolution here on the forum. http://imgur.com/a/xWKPh
Don't know what happened, made two post but both got red marked, I can't edit them and they don't seem to be public either. I'm new her, so I have no clue what's wrong.

Hello Johannes,

if your post is red marked, then it is perhaps in a categorie, which first is readed and checked by the Admins and then it will be unblocked.

especially in categorie "Markt"

https://www.trac-technik.de/Forum/announ....php?aid=3

The pictures also can only uploaded in reduced resolution.

... all in german language, not so easy for you.

Okay, I think I understand. And now everyone can see the posts again so everything is good.

What kind of pin should be used? A round bar going from one side to the other?

Now I've found what's right and whats not! I've looked closely on multiple images of MB trac 1000 on Google and found out that many have the extensions for hinges on the platform, so that part is somewhat original. The part on the cab is homemade by previous owner, nothing wrong with that either. The problem is that one of the screws holding one of the extensions is broken and thereby create some problems that made everything look wrong. Strange that I didn't spot this earlier. Also the fact that the hinges been there even when not in use have lead to wear on them.

In conclusion the same hinges fit both 900 and 1000 (as stated earlier), but 1000 has extensions going from the platform.

Still one question remains: Should I use a round-bar going from one side to the other or should I use shorter pins or screws for each side?

Hello Johannes,

you do not need a long bar from one to the other side.

The pressure is not very high und you can use 2 short pins or 2 normal screws.
(Be aware that it not slips out.)

On Youtube there is a (bad) video from tilting the cab.

on minute 3:05 you can see the (selfmade) hinges, on 4:05 you can see tilting the cab.

Okay. What's the approximate weight of the cab?

Thanks! Saw that video before but skipped it because of the bad quality.

Hello Johannes,

here the specialists think about 400-500 kg for the cab.

Okay. That means about 250kg per hinge. So you are right, it's not mush pressure on the hinges and pins.

Thank you so much for all the help! Big Grin
